Raleigh, N.C. (KGO) -- Friends and loved ones of Stuart Scott are paying their final respects to the late ESPN sports anchor. He died on Sunday, January 4, after a battle with cancer.

A viewing for Scott is happening Friday night at a Baptist Church in his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina.

A private funeral service is scheduled for Saturday.

Scott, 49, was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and had fought the disease since then.

The ESPN anchor coined the phrase "boo-yah!" during his long stint with our sister network.
