Free-agent wide receiver Torrey Smith believes Baltimore will be his home after he's finished playing football. What Smith declined to say was whether he'll be returning to the city for his next NFL stop.

Asked whether he's talked to the Ravens about a reunion, Smith told Baltimore's 98 Rock on Wednesday morning, "Top-secret information."

Smith was released by the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday after two frustrating seasons. He indicated that he's spoken to several teams already and would be open to coming back to Baltimore, where he played for four seasons and won a Super Bowl in 2012.

Referring to members of the Ravens as "family," Smith still keeps in contact with many in the organization and has lunch with Joe Flacco. The likelihood of Smith returning to the Ravens could depend on Mike Wallace's future with the team.

"When you think of comfort and familiarity -- Joe is my guy -- the stability in the organization ... it was never bad when I left," said Smith, who was promoting his March 19 charity basketball game in Baltimore. "I didn't want to leave. I think that's kind of understood. If there are conversations to be had, I would definitely listen to them."

Smith didn't speak as warmly about his time with the 49ers. In two seasons, he caught a total of 53 passes for a team that went 7-25 (.218) in that period.

"Professionally, it was horrible," Smith said. "It wasn't fun. We didn't win. I wasn't involved."

Smith complimented the organization and his teammates, stressing that he's not "super salty" and doesn't hate the 49ers.

"Just as far as football, playing and having fun, it sucked," he said.

Smith will hold his charity basketball game at Baltimore's Royal Farms Arena for the second straight year. He still lives in Baltimore during the offseason, and he has an affinity for the state because both of his children were born here and he said it is where he "became a man."

As for what the next year holds for him, Smith isn't exactly sure where he'll end up.

"Going through free agency again isn't the funnest thing in the world," Smith said. "We'll see what happens."
