THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff will be the backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, coach Jeff Fisher said after Friday's practice.
Goff entered the regular season as the third-string quarterback. He was inactive in the opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, but Fisher indicated beforehand that he would look to rotate Goff and Sean Mannion as the backup to Case Keenum.
The Rams moved up 14 spots to take Goff No. 1 overall in the 2016 draft. He went 22-for-49 with four turnovers in four preseason games.
