Josh Sweat, the top-rated overall prospect in the 2015 ESPN 300, will miss the remainder of his team's season after suffering a dislocated left knee in a game last Friday.

"He's going to have to have some surgery on his knee," said Sweat's mother, Carlette Sweat. "He won't be playing again this year. He wanted to try to get back and play with his team, but he has to have surgery."

Sweat, a five-star prospect at Oscar Frommel Smith in Chesapeake, Virginia, suffered the dislocated knee in the second quarter of last Friday's game against Western Branch.

Sweat's mother said the injury will not keep him from taking his official visits.

"All of the colleges are aware of his injury," Carlette Sweat said. "Nothing has changed. He may have to change his visit schedule because of surgery."

Sweat visited Ohio Stateon Sept. 6 and was slated to visit Virginia Techlast weekend before the injury prevented him from attending the Hokies' home loss to Georgia Tech.

Georgiawas set to host the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Sweat on Oct. 4, but Sweat's mother said that visit might have to be rescheduled, depending on when her son has surgery.

Sweat's Oct. 17 visit to Florida Stateand Oct. 31 visit to Oregonremain scheduled, while a makeup date to visit Virginia Tech has not been set.

Sweat's mother said her son will enroll in the spring as originally planned.
