BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns can thank one of their veteran teammates if they feel refreshed and renewed during training camp.
The Browns have placed the award-winning body wash of Montez Renault in the team's showers. Montez Renault is a men's grooming company owned by linebacker Karlos Dansby and his business partner, former NFL player Chris Butler.
"It's a good product, man," Dansby said Wednesday. "It's a great product, as a matter of fact."
Dansby and his company design, develop and market men's grooming products
Men's Health named Montez Renault the "body wash of the year" in its June issue.
"Did it surprise me? Yes," Dansby said, "because you got to understand there's so many brands out there now that are great. For my brand to win the Body Wash of the Year Award, out of 600-some products, that's saying a lot."
The company is named with the middle names of Dansby (Montez) and Butler (Renault).
The pair have owned a grooming lounge in Saks Fifth Avenue in Birmingham for almost five years. In that time, they've learned the products men like.
That led them to try to create their own products, which are patented and heavy on things like jojoba, aloe and green tea and free of parabens and sulfates.
Dansby said it took more than two years to develop the "3-in-1 Performance Wash." He told GQ the wash will not only be in the Browns' facility, but also in the home and visitors locker rooms at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Trade shows await, and Dansby hopes the products will grow internationally.
