MEMPHIS -- Golden State Warriors big man Marreese Speights is out at least one week after an MRI examination Sunday revealed a moderate right calf strain.
The Warriors announced Sunday that Speights has officially been ruled out for Monday night's Game 4 and will be re-evaluated in a week.
The injury occurred during the fourth quarter of Golden State's 99-89 loss to the host Memphis Grizzlies in Saturday night's Game 3. The Grizzlies have taken a 2-1 series lead over the 67-win Warriors, who need to win Game 4 to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season.
After scoring a flurry of six straight points early in the fourth quarter, Speights limped to the bench rubbing the back of his lower right leg.
Speights, who played parts of two seasons with the Grizzlies before signing with the Warriors in the summer of 2013, finished with nine points in less than six minutes of court time Saturday.
