SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- The San Francisco 49ers new stadium in Santa Clara is now officially open and already, National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell wants to give the team some company: the Oakland Raiders.
"We believe a new stadium is appropriate for the Raiders. They have to make that determination whether they're in a new stadium in Oakland or whether they feel it's best to join this stadium. But, they're working on that, and that's one of the decisions they'll have to make going forward," said Goodell.
Goodell made the announcement during the stadium's ribbon cutting event Thursday.
The Raiders are exploring a move from their current home at the Oakland Coliseum.
