The Oakland Raiders placed starting outside linebacker Sio Moore on the active/physically unable to perform list Monday.
In February, Oakland general manager Reggie McKenzie said Moore had "major" hip surgery, but the team was hopeful he would be ready for training camp. The Raiders' first full-squad camp practice is Friday. Moore will likely not be ready to start camp, but he can be activated at any time.
An NFL source said the Raiders aren't worried that Moore's time on the PUP list will be extensive. The feel is he just needs a little more time before practicing fully.
Moore was working some during the team's mandatory minicamp in June.
The Raiders signed outside linebacker Malcolm Smithas insurance in the offseason. Smith will likely back up Moore once he is healthy.
Moore, a third-round pick in 2013, had 90 tackles in 11 games last season before injuring his hip.
