Not only did Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors become the fastest NBA team to 50 wins on Monday, but also, Curry and a few friends appear ready to cash in on a promise made to them by coach Steve Kerr in June.
Kerr had pledged to use a connection to get them on Augusta National Golf Course if the Warriors won the NBA championship.
"When we won, I'm yelling at Steph, 'We're going to Augusta!'" Finals MVP Andre Iguodala said after Golden State beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games. "You know how everybody goes to Disneyland? We're going to Augusta."
With the Warriors playing Monday in Atlanta -- they beat the Hawks 102-92to improve to 50-5 -- and having a scheduled off-day Tuesday, the time appeared right for Kerr to make good.
Although Kerr told ESPN he was heading straight to Miami for Wednesday's game against the Heat, CSN Bay Area reported that a foursome of Curry, Iguodala, team executive Jerry Westand owner Joe Lacob was set to tee off Tuesday at one of the world's most revered golf courses.
