OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was named the NBA's most valuable player for the second year in a row and this time it was a history-making unanimous vote.
Curry isn't even the highest-paid player on the Warriors. His star is on the rise again and so is his fortune, which could mean a bigger contract deal and new additions to the Curry merchandising empire.

Curry's comeback after a knee injury was a jaw dropper, the stuff of legends. He scored 40 points in Game 4, 17 in overtime.
"When he finally connected, pounded his chest and was just like, I'm back, I'm here," said Warriors fan Joseph Sevier.

Sevier and buddy Jason Lee were in such awe. They bought Curry jerseys Tuesday.
Curry seemed humbled to receive the NBA's MVP award again this year, but this time was special.
"And to be the first unanimous MVP is something, I don't know even how to put it into words," Curry said.

Curry led the Warriors to 73 wins this season, scoring 30 points per game, the first player to make 400 three-pointers in a season. Not bad, considering Curry is only the fifth highest paid on the team.
University of San Francisco sports marketing professor Michael Goldman says the Curry brand is about to explode. MVP gear is already for sale online.

"We're talking about the $20 million range, as opposed to $11 million range, so it will be interesting to see how Warriors negotiate that," Goldman said.
He's already the face of Under Armor, Apple, Muscle Milk and Brita water filters, with more deals likely on the way.
So, what's next? "Let's go win a championship," Curry said.
Dub Nation is beaming with pride.
"An amazing story, amazing hero for the bay. I'm proud to be a Warriors fan," Sevier added, a pride he shares with the rest of Dub Nation.
