Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry continues to fill up the basket from beyond the 3-point arc, but his proclivity for doing so really hit home Saturday night.

Curry, who is shooting 45.2 percent from beyond the arc this season, made five 3-pointers in the Warriors' 107-99 overtime victory against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night to give him 1,248 for his career -- three more than his father, Dell Curry.

"I knew about it going into the game," said Stephen Curry, who is off to the best start in NBA history with 57 3-pointers through the first 11 games. "It's a pretty special moment for my family. I'm sure he never dreamt of the day one of his sons would pass him."

Dell Curry reached his total in 1,083 career games. His 27-year-old son needed just 427 to pass him.

Overall, Stephen Curry moved into a tie with Derek Fisher for 40th on the career rankings and is 19 behind the next active player on the list -- LeBron James, who is ranked 35th all time with 1,267.

Curry set the single-season record with 286 last season.
