Stephen Curry is predicting a victory-filled 48 hours next weekend for his Golden State Warriors and the Carolina Panthers, his favorite NFL team.
At a news conference to announce Chase's naming-rights deal for the Warriors' planned arena, a confident Curry answered a question from ESPN's Sage Steele, who was emceeing the news conference, about the Panthers playing in the Super Bowl on Feb. 6 in the Bay Area a night after Golden State hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder at Oracle Arena.
"It will be a good 48 hours, a win and a win," Curry said Thursday.
As for the final score of Super Bowl 50, Curry said he predicts a 24-17 victory.
"Hold me to it," he said.
The Warriors, who are 42-4 on the season, have won five straight games, a streak that started with a 132-98 thrashing of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Curry was similarly brazen before that game, saying, "walking in that locker room, it'll be good memories. Hopefully, it still smells a little bit like champagne."
