It appears, by adding Mark Melancon to the San Francisco Giants roster, the team was fulfilling more than just its roster needs.

One young fan wrote to Giants GM Bobby Evans begging and pleading the Giants to sign Melancon.

Well it appears the Giants heard the fan loud and clear, even hashtagging #WeAreListening. In the letter, the fan emphasizes the need for Melancon, writing he/she "really really really" wants the Giants to get him "very very soon."

Melancon joins the Giants as a closer their bullpen could definitely use. The 31-year-old tallied a 1.64 ERA with 47 saves and 65 strikeouts last season with the Washington Nationals.
