SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Some major changes are coming Monday for those who commute over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Bridge managers say the current evening rush plan isn't working well, so starting Monday crews will change the lane configuration on the bridge only twice a week instead of every day.
On Thursdays and Fridays, there will be four lanes north and two lanes south. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be three lanes south and three lanes north.
Officials hope this will alleviate congestion during peak hours.
