Park rangers in Yosemite are warning that the Merced River is running high and fast, and have closed some tents near the water's edge.

TRUCKEE, Calif. (KGO) -- Snow melting in the Sierra has prompted a warning from park rangers in the area.

This year's massive snow pack is to blame. It's as big as the past four years combined.

The melting snow will have a widespread impact. The rushing water will make white water rafting more dangerous on the Truckee River. Lake Tahoe's beaches will be a little bit smaller as well.
