BART trains were running through the station without stopping for more than two hours during the emergency response, which prompted the closure of the station. Normal service was beginning to resume as of 3:15 p.m., Filippi said.

During the station closure, Alameda-Contra Costa Transit buses were taking BART passengers to and from the nearby San Leandro and Hayward stations, he said.
