SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco's Chase Center and the streets surrounding it will be put to the test tonight.

The Dave Matthews Band will be playing a concert at Chase while the Giants are playing the Pirates next door at Oracle Arena.

"Not only have we been talking about it for years but we have been planning on it for years. We monitored what happened on Friday night with the opening of Chase Center and again on Sunday and people really enjoy our service. We have rail service, extra T line trains, shuttles on the train line and we have the 78 and 79 express lines as well," said Erica Kato, the SFMTA spokesperson.

Concertgoers can catch those express lines, or shuttles, at the 16th Street BART station. Their concert ticket will also serve as their MUNI ticket.

"Those are shuttles that wouldn't be in service if we didn't have an event or a game," Kato said.

They will add even more options tonight because of the baseball game.

"Compared with what we did on Friday night for the opening of Chase, we could see an additional 12 to 15 extra train cars to service Oracle Park," Kato said.

The game starts at 6:45 pm. The concert starts at 8:00 pm. Residents tell ABC7 News they are optimistic about tonight.

"I think this whole neighborhood is going to be pretty good. Just seeing how it went down over the weekend, I think it went surprisingly well," said San Francisco Will Moore, who is taking MUNI to the concert tonight.

"You gotta be upbeat. You gotta be positive. This city is transit friendly so we gotta just continue on and keep moving," said Moore.

Kevin Molloy plans to walk to the baseball game tonight from his North Beach home.

"If people are smart they won't drive here. Hopefully they'll take public transportation," Molloy said.

Here are mass transit tips to get to the arena.
