Spectators celebrate Fourth of July at 3-mile-long Alameda parade

ALAMEDA, Calif. (KGO) -- The Alameda 4th of July Parade is one of the largest and longest Independence Day parades in the nation.

Dozens of cars, fire trucks and floats made their way down Park Street on Tuesday.

It's a tradition for many families to return to the same spot along the 3-mile route year after year. There were dance troops, marching bands and antique cars.

There are 2,500 people taking part in Tuesday's parade.
