It happened on the 1100 block of Crestmont Drive around 7:30 p.m.
Police say three suspects armed with a pistol entered the residence through an open garage door. The suspects then assaulted a male resident and then restrained both residents.

The suspects reportedly then went through the house, stealing valuables and personal items.
When the suspects left the home, police say they left both residents restrained.
Neighbor Greg Wilson said him and his family were home all night, but didn't hear or notice a thing, not until after all the police arrived at 11pm, a full two and a half hours after the robbers reportedly entered the house just below his.
"It was dark. It was rainy," Wilson said. "We were home, but it was inside, there was a lot of activity in our house, but had no idea anything happened."
The latest home invasion comes less than a month after another violent incident, also in Lafayette, on Halloween night.
Contra Costa Sheriffs, which contracts with Lafayette and Orinda, has announced increased patrols in the area, given the spike in robberies, and the shootings at a house party in Orinda that claimed 5 people, also on Halloween night.

In Lafayette, at least one homeowner is taking matters into his own hands, having additional security cameras installed right away.
"We had a home invasion robbery across the street from us a week ago," said Lafayette resident James Rockafellow, whose camera caught the act.
Amanda Wilson, Lafayette resident said "It's obviously very scary. This is a small, close knit community. I feel like recently there has been an uptick in crime here."
"We just bought the Ring doorbell because we had someone knocking on our door at 4 in the morning," Wilson said. "We didn't answer."
No arrests have been made from Tuesday night's attack. The two residents were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
