"I love seeing kids and families so happy and excited," said Bradley Irish, California's Great America entertainment manager. "Especially after such a tough year."

ABC7 spoke to families about what they hope for in 2022.
"A calmer year than the year before... a little more normal," one person said.

"2021 was the worst... I think 2022 can change our lives."

More than one million lights draped the trees surrounding the park as families bundled up enjoying the sights and sounds. The park stayed open until 12:30 a.m. as crowds gathered counting down to the new year.
