2 shot at Pittsburg BART station; 1 remains in critical condition, agency says

PITTSBURG, Calif. -- A shooting on the platform of the Pittsburg Center BART station left two people wounded and closed the station for about four a half hours Friday, the transit system said.

The incident was reported to BART police about 3:51 p.m., according to a spokesman. The station was reported open again about 8:43 p.m.

The initial report was that a gunman shot a man and fled, BART said. The victim was taken to an area hospital and was in critical condition.

A few hours later, a second man showed up at a hospital with a leg wound, BART said. The second victim was in stable condition.
