AccuWeather Forecast: Cooldown begins tonight as marine layer rolls in

Updated 1 hour ago
Takeaway of the Day
Today was the last day of the Bay Area's recent hot spell. As of 3 p.m., most inland communities had temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s, while Brentwood, Vacaville, St. Helena, and Cloverdale had temperatures at or above 100 degrees. However, as a strong onshore wind flow increases this evening, we can expect faster cooling the we've had over the last few evenings. We can also expect the marine layer to begin making a comeback overnight, reinforcing the cooldown that begins this evening.

A Look Ahead
Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with high temperatures about 5 to 10 degrees lower than today's highs -- and as we head into the weekend, there will be further cooling, with high temperatures a few degrees below average by Saturday. Despite the developing cooldown, fire concerns remain elevated because of increasing winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation.
