San Francisco police officers assigned to Central Station responded to the area of Beach and Stockton streets on a report of a shooting. A second shooting was reported a few minutes later at Embarcadero and Howard streets.
Officers located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene, who transported the victims to a local hospital.
During a press briefing Sunday night, SFPD Chief Bill Scott confirmed that six people total had been injured from the incident after a "car-to-car" shooting occurred, involving one black SUV and one white sedan.
Two victims received gunshot wounds, one with life-threatening injuries. Three victims were also injured from glass shards at the incident. Two other victims, girls ages 10 and 16 years old, were struck by one of the two vehicles involved, one of whom was injured.

"It sounded like the backfire from a car engine and then all of a sudden you heard pop, pop, pop, pop and it didn't stop it went pop, pop, pop, pop, 20-25 times," said Carrie McEachron who is a San Francisco resident.
McEachron was having dinner with her family near The Ferry Building along the Embarcadero. Police confirm there was a car-to-car shooting where at least two people were shot, at least three people hit by glass from bullets fired, and at least two kids hit by the vehicles involved.
Witnesses tell us the two gunshot victims were in a black SUV that was being chased by a those in a white sedan. Police believe shots were fired from both of those vehicles as the two raced along the Embarcadero starting in the area near Pier 39 at Beach and Stockton streets.
"I could tell for sure he had been shot and then I saw the car crash and the bullet holes and then I was like this is a whole thing," said Aushanae Crayton who saw the aftermath after the black SUV crashed.
"Our friend who was in the military was like that's gunshots. Get down, get down!" said McEachron.
"We were just ordering our food and then we heard the gunshots and I kind of thought it was from the car, then my mother turned around and she saw the car flipping over and that's like it," said Sarah Prusse who is visiting San Francisco.
Some, who saw the scene at The Embarcadero & Howard from their hotel, said they were at Pier 39 when they heard this.
"We were literally just down there at Pier 39 and the parking garage down the street it sounded like fireworks went off...but then the fear on their faces and then somebody ran through and said, he's coming! Shooter, so I took off running too," said Cindy Jones who is visiting from Tennessee with her husband.

Tourists and locals alike are troubled by what happened.
"And we're in the Embarcadero in San Francisco on a nice night on Sunday night, Father's Day and that's what you hear? And I want to fight for our city, but I want to leave also," said McEachron.
Scott said no suspects have been arrested.
