The Association for Pet Obesity reveals that 60 percent of cats and more than 55 percent of dogs are overweight or obese. Experts say pet owners should work with their vet to create a pet weight-loss plan.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Association for Pet Obesity surveyed more than 2,000 pet owners in 41 states and found that 60 percent of cats and more than 55 percent of dogs are overweight or obese.

Experts say obesity is the single biggest threat to your pets' health and urge pet owners to work with a vet to create a weight-loss plan for their furry friends.
