DALY CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- A fire truck and a fire engine responding to a call this morning were involved in a traffic collision in Daly City that sent two firefighters to the hospital with injuries, a fire inspector said. The collision was called in at 9:18 a.m. at the intersection of Crocker Avenue and Brunswick Street, North County Fire Inspector Klaus Zolinskis said.

Truck No. 95 and Engine 92 were both going code three at the intersection. Both vehicles suffered significant damage.

The two firefighters were taken to the hospital after both lost consciousness after the crash. Fire Capt. Mike Chavez is listed in fair condition and Engine Operator Chris Baldwin is in serious condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Zolinskis said.
