Hillary Clinton made history after becoming the first woman in U.S. history to officially accept the nomination for president saying: "My friends it's with humility, determination and boundless confidence in America's promise that I accept your nomination."

On Thursday night, it was a historic celebration at the Democratic National Convention for Clinton.

"I accept your nomination for President of the United States," Clinton said.

It was a week of the Democrats trying to offer a stark contrast to the Republican National Convention.

There was star power, optimistic messages of unity and striking moments of support for Clinton from military veterans.

The father of Captain Humayun Khan, a decorated Muslim-American soldier killed in Iraq, had strong words for Donald Trump.

"You have sacrificed nothing and no one," Khan said.

"A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons," Clinton said of Trump.

As Clinton spoke at the DNC, Trump tweeted, "Hillary's vision is a borderless world where working people have no power, no jobs, no safety."

The Trump campaign called Clinton's prime time speech an "insulting collections of clichés" and a "speech delivered from a fantasy universe."

The all-out war between the two major party candidates is only expected to get worse.

After a campaign rally at Temple University, the Clinton-Kaine bus tour will make its way through the battleground states of Pennsylvania and Ohio.
