It is maybe the worst-kept secret ever that I am very, very excited about the upcoming live-action reimagining of my all-time favorite film, Beauty and the Beast (coming to theaters March 17, 2017). So this morning when Emma Watson shared the first teaser poster via her Facebook page, it should come as a surprise to no one that I squealed for a good 60 seconds before pulling myself together and taking a closer look.
It's beautiful and gives us our first good view of the enchanted rose in the West Wing. Indulge me while I over-analyze for a moment: I love the fact that it's almost snowing indoors here, what a great visual metaphor for Beast and the enchanted objects who are frozen in stasis because of the curse. Okay, thank you for bearing with me there.
Beauty and the Beast stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Lefou, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellan as Cogsworth, and Kevin Kline as Maurice. My countdown clock is obviously set for 3/17/17.
