Federal, state monitors dispatched for election
Both federal and state election monitors have been dispatched to several California counties to keep watch over the election.
Last month, the Department of Justice said it would send federal election observers to five counties in California - Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Riverside and Fresno - as well as one county in New Jersey.

California Gov. Newsom lashed out against the Trump administration's deployment of the monitors, calling it an effort to intimidate voters and possibly declare the election illegal.
In response, Newsom said the state would send their own own monitors to watch over the feds.
