SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Oak Grove School District in San Jose has seen a drop in enrollment and must now make the "most difficult decision," eight elementary school campuses are being considered for consolidation.

They are Frost Elementary, Baldwin, Glider, Oak Ridge, Santa Teresa, Anderson, Del Roble, and Miner.

A consolidation committee made up of staff, parents and community members will recommend 3-to-5 campuses for closure for the next school year. The School Board will then make the final decision for the 2018-2019 school year.

Oak Grove School Superintendent, Jose Manzo, released a statement, saying, "We hope that during this very difficult time we can come together as a district, listen to each other, and trust we all want the very best for our district, students, and families. No decision is going to be easy."

Community forums are being held over the next couple of weeks.
