1 killed, 7 others injured following shooting at party in Morgan Hill, police say

MORGAN HILL, Calif. (KGO) -- One person was killed and seven others were injured during a party in Morgan Hill Saturday Night, police said.

The shooting happened in an open field at the corner of Live Oak Avenue and Hale Avenue around 10 p.m.

Officials say they were called to the area for reports of drunk people in the street and a person throwing bottles at cars.

Deputies arrived to find more than 300 partygoers running away after gunshots were fired.

Social media posts obtained by ABC7 Eyewitness News show there was a party for young people being advertised at that location.

Police told us that the party was "unsanctioned."

There is no word if any suspects were arrested.
