BART experiencing major delays systemwide due to equipment problems, officials say

DALY CITY, Calif. -- BART is reporting a major systemwide delay Wednesday due to equipment problems.

The delay was first reported on the San Francisco Line in the East Bay, SFO Airport, Millbrae and Daly City directions.

The delay is caused by equipment problems on the track near the Daly City and West Oakland stations.

BART officials didn't describe the equipment problems or provide an estimated time for when the delay will be resolved.

BART officials also reported limited Green line service between Berryessa and MacArthur station. Passengers traveling from the San Francisco line can board a Blue Line train and transfer at Bayfair for serive to Berryessa.

People traveling from the Berryessa line can board a Green or Orange Line train and transfer at Bayfair station to a Blue line Daly City train.

BART also reported limited Blue line service between Dublin/Pleasanton and 24th/Mission stations. Passengers traveling from the San Francisco line can board an Antioch or Richmond train and transfer at 24th St Mission to the Blue line train.

In January 2026, BART released a report that pinpointed what went wrong in nearly a dozen different service disruptions since the summer of 2025.

Representatives from the company hired to do the report believe there is no single issue that caused all the disruptions.

"It's several contributing factors that have led to an environment where there's power fluctuations or power trips or something that can interrupt the flow of current," said BART spokesperson, Alicia Trost.

BART says they have already fixed or are currently addressing some of the issues the report has highlighted.

And they say a final analysis will also come soon.
