Cherry picker falls off flatbed truck on Yerba Buena Island, limiting access from Bay Bridge

YERBA BUENA ISLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A crash involving what appears to be a cherry picker limited access to Yerba Buena Island on Monday morning, prompting the closure of Bay Bridge offramps to the island.

The crash happened around 8:45 a.m. on Macalla Road, and SKY7 video showed the cherry picker that had fallen off a flatbed truck, blocking a significant portion of the road.

The incident led police to close the offramps from the Bay Bridge to Yerba Buena Island.

Traffic backed up on the bridge, though the disruption to the commute appeared to be minimal.

It was not immediately clear when the offramps would reopen. Caltrans is working to clear the crash scene.
