When you're a pitcher in the National League, you might try something different at the plate in order to increase your chances of getting a hit. San Francisco Giants right-hander Johnny Cueto attempted just that on Thursday, taking a page out of iconic fictional golfer Happy Gilmore's book.

Facing Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke in the sixth inning of the Giants' 4-2 win, Cueto decided to get a running start from the back of the batter's box before taking a hack and somehow still making contact on the pitch. Unlike Gilmore, whose long drives won him a gold jacket on the Pro Golf Tour, Cueto was only able to chop the ball about 90 feet to third base.

Unfortunately, Cueto's new technique didn't work, as he went 0-for-2 in the game to drop his average to .105 this season.br/]
