SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Longtime San Francisco Giants television announcer Mike Krukow is calling it a career.
On Thursday morning, Krukow issued a statement announcing his retirement at the end of the current season.
"Jennifer and I have been so blessed to be able to stay in the game for as long as we have, and it's really made it impossible to feel sorry for myself that my career is coming to an end," part of his statement read.
The 74-year-old began his broadcasting career with the Giants back in 1990, shortly after he retired as a pitcher with the club,
He became a fulltime member of the TV broadcast team with Duane Kuiper in 1994.
The two have shared the booth ever since, becoming known as one of the best duos in the game because of their humor and great chemistry.
