Musicians, artists honor Oakland fire victims

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- People gathered to honor victims of the Oakland Ghost Ship warehouse fire , both at the scene and at a different artists' colony across town.

Those ABC7 News spoke with admit a little bit of art helps with the healing.

"I was nervous about coming. Not because of the piping, but the thought of seeing that sight for the first time, it's just horrifying," Billie Narver said.

One week after the tragedy, people are honoring the warehouse fire victims. "Artists understand what other artists lives are like, therefore by the grace of God go I and it was such a tragic event, I can't let my head go there," Oakland artist Ann Marie Hodrick said.
