Person riding scooter killed in downtown SF crash on Market Street: SFFD

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A person on a scooter died on Market Street in downtown San Francisco Friday morning in a crash with a vehicle, the San Francisco Fire Department says.

SFFD confirms that there was a 911 call for a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Market St. and 5th Street at 8:18 a.m. This is near the Powell Muni/BART station.

They say that a person was found with a scooter nearby and was declared dead on scene.

Video from the scene shows a white tent set up on Market Street as police respond. Market Street between 4th and 5th Streets is currently closed.

SFMTA posted on X that there was a "non-Muni collision."
