A San Francisco supervisor wants to rename a street in honor of Claude, an albino alligator and a local legend who died two weeks ago.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco supervisor wants to rename a street in honor of Claude, the albino alligator.

The animal was a local legend at the California Academy of Sciences before his death just two weeks ago.

Supervisor Myrna Melgar wants to publicly acknowledge Claude with a commemorative sign.

She has put up a poll online for the people to decide which city street will be deemed "Claude the Alligator Way."
