SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- As the South Bay welcomes the world to Super Bowl 50, members of the armed forces will be posted around the Levi's Stadium to keep the fans safe.

Local law enforcement will be working around the clock as well.

At the Marriott Hotel in downtown San Jose, friends and family of the Carolina Panthers arrived on-site and with them, protection from the San Jose Police Department.

"We're having daily meetings with the federal agencies, and the local agencies, to make sure that we're on track, and to make sure that everything's going smooth," explained Eddie Garcia, San Jose Interim Chief.

The FBI is leading a joint operations center at a secret location nearby, monitoring threats and managing emergency response.

Every division of the San Jose Police Department has been assigned to work uniform patrol this week with 12-hour shifts to provide coverage around the clock.
