Republicans on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Thursday voted to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress.
A pan-coronavirus vaccine will be designed using features of the virus's genetic code that are shared universally across all different versions of the virus.
As Dr. Fauci said Sunday the U.S. is about 3 weeks from seeing omicron's peak, some Bay Area health experts believe most of the Bay Area has already peaked, bringing us closer to a possibility of an endemic.
"Things are looking good. We don't want to get overconfident, but they look like they're going in the right direction right now," he said.
The FDA announced at-home antigen tests are "less sensitive" to omicron, but a UCSF doctor says they're still reliable because the tests look at "individual proteins that don't have anything to do with where the mutations are."
Fauci also said he was surprised when Trump was booed by some of his supporters after he revealed he'd gotten his booster shot.
