Four people were arrested and three were cited at Oracle Park on Thursday during the Giants vs. Rockies game after a verbal altercation turned into a brawl, police said.
The San Francisco 49ers made short work of the New York Giants during Thursday's game, but some fans didn't seem to enjoy the victory so much.
"It's a mob mentality, people feel like they want to belong, social media kind of creates a FOMO attitude like they feel like they have to be a part of something," said Dr. Cohen.
"There were just these throngs of kids -- I want to say 300, 400 kids," a witness said. "Things were fine. It was just a little strange, and then all of a sudden, they started running towards us. We thought there was like gunfire or a knife or something happened."
This is the second fight caught on camera at Levi's Stadium this year. It's unclear how the brawl started but several people were eventually escorted away by security.
Asked if there's any evidence of a hate crime, Albert said that police "looked at every avenue" and left "no stone unturned."
