SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Starting Wednesday, it will cost you more to ride on Muni in San Francisco.

The discount fare, for children, seniors, and disabled people will go from 75 cents to $1. Monthly passes will increase by $1 to $3, depending on which version you have. The basic adult fare will remain at $2.25 and cable car fares will go up $1 from $6 to $7.

It's part of an automatic increase to cover labor costs and operating fees approved by the Muni board.
