STANFORD UNIVERSITY (KGO) -- This weekend, you have a unique opportunity to learn sports from Stanford athletes while helping Bay Area kids stay healthy and fit. You are invited to the ultimate party at Stanford Stadium on Saturday morning.
At the Children's Champions event you can meet mascots from the Giants, A's, 49ers and Earthquakes -- as well as 49er players such as offensive lineman Joe Staley. The event is a joint effort by the Wender-Weis Foundation and Fit Kids, which brings fitness programs to schools in needy communities.
"We're so excited. We're going to have professional athletes and Stanford athletes there. We're going to have seven or eight Stanford teams come in and do drills and clinics with kids," said Amy Wender-Hoch, Wender-Weis Foundation.
"The money we raise through children's champions will go to support Fit Kids programs at schools around the Bay Area -- and again they provide those services for free to kids from San Francisco all the way to San Jose," said Ashley Riley, Fit Kids.
You can still buy tickets for your family to Children's Champions this Saturday at Stanford Stadium.
