El Cerrito Little Caesars employee injured in robbery
A female employee at Little Caesars was shot and injured when two male robbers demanded money inside the pizza shop.

EL CERRITO -- A pizza restaurant robbery in El Cerrito turned into a shooting that left an employee injured Monday night, police said.

The robbery at Little Caesars Pizza at 11299 San Pablo Ave. happened around 8:20 p.m.

Two men, one of them armed with a handgun, went inside the business and demanded for money from a female employee. The employee, who was in her 20s, gave it to them and the suspects still ended up shooting her.

The men fled with cash and were last seen running from the shopping area's parking lot, according to police.

The suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s or 30s wearing dark clothing. They were wearing sweatshirts with their hoods covering their faces, according to police.

The employee was transported to a trauma center, but an update on her condition was not immediately available.
