VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- A man who is accused of running over his ex-girlfriend and her relative in Vallejo has been arrested.

Lt. Kevin Bartlett says 20-year-old American Canyon resident Jon-Luke Laporte ran over the two women around 1:30 p.m. Saturday with his red pickup truck at Laurel Street and Benicia Road and then took off.

The two women were found lying on the pavement and transported to nearby hospitals with moderate injuries.

According to Bartlett, Laporte returned to the scene while officers were investigating and led them on a pursuit after he refused to yield.

The chase continued through city streets and ended at Tennessee Street and Oakwood Avenue, where Bartlett says officers were able to use a "pursuit mobilization technique" to stop the truck.

Laporte is facing several charges including attempted murder.
