San Jose police search for suspect in handcuffs

A San Jose felon wanted for burglary and assault is still on the loose after he escaped from bail bondsmen while in handcuffs.

David Nghounoi, 30, was being escorted to jail when he bolted from the lobby. He ran into a neighborhood and disappeared.

A large-scale search for him Wednesday evening turned up empty-handed. Officers say the felon brazenly bolted, minutes before he was to be booked.

Nearby Burnett Middle School was briefly put into lockdown after the suspect escaped.
