SF woman with Alzheimer's goes missing from library

SAN FRANCISCO -- Police are looking for a woman with Alzheimer's disease who went missing from a San Francisco library Thursday afternoon.

Andrea Jeffrey, 69, went missing from the public library at Scott and Geary streets at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

She is described as a black woman, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a gray fleece jacket, a black skirt and was carrying a gray purse, police said.

Jeffrey suffers from Alzheimer's disease and diabetes and does not know how to use public transportation, police said. She has never gone missing before.
