SAN JOSE (KGO) -- San Jose firefighters have contained a six acre fire burning in the foothills off of Santa Teresa Boulevard.
San Jose fire called for a two tier response, CAL FIRE also sent out trucks and crews, about 65 firefighters were out here at the peak of the fire. High voltage power lines run through the area, increasing the danger facing firefighters.
"Obviously in the middle of the night it's impossible to find the origin point. We're cognizant that the lines go through here. It's a very high powered area. And so we're making sure the lines aren't down, they're not involved and they're not the cause," said San Jose Fire Capt. Mike Van Elgort.
No structures were threatened. The closest homes are about a quarter mile away. Traffic control is in place on Santa Teresa Boulevard and Bailey Avenue.
