Suspect in San Francisco Lyft driver beating appears in court
One of the suspects in a highway assault in San Francisco appeared in court Monday and entered a not guilty plea.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- One of the suspects in a highway assault in San Francisco appeared in court Monday and entered a not guilty plea.

Derwayne Johnson, 33, is one of three suspects charged with assaulting a Lyft driver in March.

The incident occurred near the Caesar Chavez exit off Highway 101.

Riders on dirt bikes vandalized the vehicle and ran over the driver, breaking his nose and leg, leaving him in serious condition. Johnson's bail has been set at $1 million.
