CHICAGO -- The 86th annual Bud Billiken Parade returned to Chicago's South Side Saturday afternoon.
The parade, which is one of the largest in the U.S., promotes education.
Bud Billiken, who symbolizes the guardian of all children, is a mascot created in 1923 for the Chicago Defender Newspaper. The overall goal of the parade is to raise $500,000 for scholarships.
