SAN MATEO, Calif. (KGO) -- Someone in the Bay Area has 225 million reasons to smile. That's because Key Market grocery store in San Mateo sold a Powerball ticket matching all six winning numbers for Wednesday night's big $225 million jackpot.
The winning numbers are: 7-14-21-24-41 and the Powerball is 26.
While everyone is waiting for the ticket holder to come forward, the store owners are also big winners.
Chris Dehoff, General Manager of Key Market in San Mateo, has had several hours to let the news sink in. His parents are the owners of the store and they get $1 million for selling the winning ticket.
Rumors are swirling that the big winner is someone who shops there frequently.
"It is a regular here because they play those exact same numbers weekly," said Dehoff.
The longtime family-run business is now decorated with balloons and banners. To celebrate, they're giving customers free coffee all day.
Employees say the ticket was purchased in check stand 4 last night just after 6:30 p.m.
Jonna is the clerk who sold it.
"Well I think this is really cool," said Jonna.
Jonna's line was busy Thursday with a rush of people buying lotto tickets and hoping lightning might strike in the same spot twice.
"I think there's a mentality we're a lucky spot now," said Jonna.
Only one ticket matched all six numbers in the drawing so the winner gets the whole $225 million jackpot.
If he or she takes the cash option, that grand total is $136.1 million before federal taxes.
